WTH – That Was My Idea!

Have you checked out the new Chevy Sonic campaign, "Let's Do This?' It's an adventurous little car that encourages you to do a lot firsts in your life – bungie jumping, sky diving etc. I remember pitching that for another Chevy vehicle years ago.

It didn't fly.

In cases like this, I study the campaign to see which idea is better – theirs or mine? (My ego can admit when I've been bested - but the jury is still out.) What works? What didn't? What makes me say, "I wish I did that?" What would I do differently?

Normally, it's a bitter pill to swallow when the client allows a new agency to do things they wouldn't let you do. In this case, I have a lot of friends and colleagues working at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, so I can't hold it against them.
