ADs & CWs: Pitch A Comic Book Series
Art directors and copywriters are always joining forces to build each others portfolios. Instead of just helping each other break into the ad biz, how about using your powers to break into other ventures – like comic books?
This weekend the New York Comic Con wraps up and Editor in Chief, William Christensen and Managing Editor, Jim Kuhoric of Avatar Press will be accepting submissions for comic book series from 10-11am.
According to the Avatar website, "the ideal submission will include an overview of the story, a detailed plot synopsis, sample script pages, character designs, and several sample art pages (panel to panel continuity)."

You want to make a living using your creative talents? Here's an avenue to consider.
And if you are thinking it's just pages of "POW!" and "ZAP!" I suggest that you do a little homework to see the sophisticated storytelling that's out there. That book you've been laboring over? There's no reason why it can't become a graphic novel.
