Networking 101

Consider this your early semester check-up. Are you making the right moves to get on your professors' good sides? Get your minds out of the gutter. I don't mean this

What are you doing to get their attention? (Yeah, that didn't sound any better.)

Anyway, your professors are your first contact to networking your way into an internship or a possible job.

They know people. Take advantage (pun intended). But if you're already cutting class or doing just enough to get by, you can forget that recommendation. It's September, so you still have time to turn things around.

If you've graduated, you can still call upon a favorite instructor or college departments. Those resources don't leave you once you get the diploma. And if you aren't using your college resources, you have much more to learn.

Remember, you're going to be paying back student loans over the next decade, so you're also paying for those resources. Go get your money's worth.
