Well, The Idea Sounded Good In My Head.

Sometimes I forget to practice what I preach.

Recently, I was pitching some concepts. One idea I felt could be enhanced by some new technology I discovered. It took too long to explain how the tech worked, so by the time I got to the idea, I lost my audience.

Lesson (re)learned: If it takes more than a minute to explain the idea, simplify it. If you can't simplify it, don't bother with it.

Also keep this in mind: New media should make your idea better. It should never be the idea.
