In the mall I'm seeing a lot of students getting dorm stuff for their trip back to campus. I'm wondering how many have a fall internship lined up. I'm wondering if any made the effort.

Internships aren't just for summer. Get the experience anytime you can. Even if you go to school in a small college town, there are smaller businesses that could offer big experiences in marketing.

Start figuring out who is in your area. Make contact and see if you can visit when you return. Or make an early trip back to campus for interviews. If you land a position then you'll know how to schedule your classes around the job. Doing it in reverse makes it difficult getting the job with the right fit

For older adults, this may be your big opportunity. You need to consider taking the internship, if a student can't make time for it. If you're starting over, an internship may provide a valuable opportunity to get your foot in the door.
