What's the point of dabbling in social media if you don't make it a point to be social?

After over 20 years in Detroit marketing, I'm kinda starting over here in Chicago. So I've reached out to various organizations, sort of wading in this new media pool. One group is making an effort to put the spotlight on local Chicago bloggers with the first annual Chicago International Blog Awards. The gala event will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 6-9 PM at the University Center Conference Chicago, 525 South State Street, 2nd FL. General admission is $10. Seating is limited to about 60.

Yes, I entered Professor Ad Man. No word yet if I'm a finalist. Maybe I'll see you there.
