Attack This Shark Week Competition.

I'm a big watcher of Shark Week on Discovery Channel. They do a lot creative lead-ins to the programs every summer and this year you can be a part of it.

Up to July 1, you can enter the "Shark Week Video Frenzy." They want you to create a 30-second commercial showing how you would celebrate Shark Week. Judges will select the top 16 spots and then viewers will choose the top 2 that will air during Shark Week, July 31-August 6.

If you enter, don't do this:

This is an entry I found. Yes, a lot of them are going to be amateurs and laughably bad. You should push for something you'd be proud to put in your portfolio, even if you don't win. If you are lost about putting your book together, sometimes contests give you structure to produce better content. That's really the only value of entering contests like this – and to give yourself a creative outlet. Most of all, have fun.
