In fact, you should make periodic updates at least twice a year, even if you aren't job hunting. Make it a habit like changing the batteries in your smoke detectors (you probably haven't done that either).

1. You have new work samples sitting in your computer somewhere where no one can see them but you.
2. If someone asked to see your work right now, you’d have an excuse to show them later.
3. All of your campaign samples only incorporate TV, radio and print.
4. The brands in your work samples don’t exist anymore.
5. You’re still using samples from school two years after graduation. (There a statute of limitations.)
6. You’ve forgotten the password to your online portfolio.
