You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry.
"...You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." Dr. David Bruce Banner said it best. And he's right. No one likes the angry applicant. I know you're frustrated trying to land that new position, but don't let it show in your cover letter. And by no means, don't express it in an interview. To my knowledge, no one has ever landed a job, because the employer empathized with the applicant, because he/she "was tired of looking."
I read an article recently how people are expressing themselves that way when they apply for jobs. I could also tell you a few stories, but I won't embarrass anyone, because I have empathy for all in that situation. I've been there. Once I was out of work for nearly a year.
I prayed. I cried. I got angry.
But every time I sent out a resume, it expressed why I was the better choice.
Every time I got a phone call, I sounded upbeat.
Every time I went to an interview, there was a smile on my face.
There's no other choice. On those bad days, look for another outlet. I'm an ex-swimmer. So I swam laps until I had to drag myself out of the pool. The great thing about the pool is your face is wet and the chlorine makes your eyes red, so no one can tell if you're upset. More important, when I got out of the water, I lost my anger and regained my focus.
