The Last Advertising Agency On Earth. I really like this video. It's a humorous take on a serious matter that has devastated our industry. Many agencies are gone or on their way to extinction, because they can't let go of their dinosaur thinking. But  a lot of us will evolve with some new skills and new levels of creativity. There's far less room for traditional thinking in an untraditional world. Even if you're in a more thriving environment, such as digital, there are still challenges ahead. iPhone and other smartphones have altered the way we interact online. Many have learned the hard way how a mobile screen changes the way we see web sites. And I can't wait to see how the iPad and other tablets will shake up things.

Forward thinkers, this is your time. Hopefully, you're in an agency environment that nurtures vision. If not, it's time for you to open some eyes. Become one of the "go-to" people and help lead them into a new era. If you're looking for work, you can rise above the pack of applicants by demonstrating some fresh thinking. Show them how you would be their first step to moving forward.

To become an authority on emerging trends, doesn't mean being the authority of all things gimmicky. Just because it looks cool, doesn't mean it's effective or it's a good fit for your clients. You'll be your agency's asset by becoming wise enough to know the difference.
