Compuware's Million Dollar Giveaway: A Coup For You?
Professor Ad Man is always talking about creating opportunities and advantages where they aren't always apparent.
We're about to have that talk again. New subject. Same message.

Compuware is a provider of software products and services designed to increase productivity. They want the world to know corporations can thrive in downtown Detroit, Michigan. And they want people to know they do a damn fine job helping their customers save money. In fact, they are getting the word out through their customer base. Late November, Compuware launched a contest asking their customers to tell how Compuware's products and services helped them save money and perform better. The contest will run through November 2010. And the company telling the most compelling story will be awarded a $1 million dollar prize. It's social media marketing for Compuware without the legwork.

I don't know if this is a contest entry, but I did uncover one company's success story:
If you look at Compuware's client roster, you have to wonder what their customers' corporate communications departments look like. Do their customers even have corporate communications departments? Or someone with reasonable typing skills? I'm sure all of those companies want to win the money. But can they tell a good story? Maybe they might be open to hiring some savvy ad people to help them weave a compelling tale. Hmm?
I'm just saying...
I'm just putting it out there...
I'm thinking if someone helps one of these companies win that money, It could be a pretty big coup for that freelancer or team or budding agency.
It's about being aware and creating opportunities for yourself when they aren't always apparent.
Good luck.
